La Fougeraíe au Crépuscule
Coty
(1933)
La Fougeraíe au Crépusculeis said to have been the final perfume creation of François Coty, launched in 1933, the year after his death. La Fougeraíe au Crépusculeis ("fern garden at twilight"), while little known by Coty admirers, the fragrance continues to feel fresh and exciting today. Notice the design credit on the box (near right): "Décor reproduction fourère d'Agathe - Or. Gisements Impériaux du Japon." While I hesitate to translate the French, the notice appears to refer to a fern garden of d'Agathe - Or and the imperial fern beds of Japan. (Help is welcome on this translation.) Enlarge the photo of the La Fougeraíe au Crépuscule box and you will notice that the pattern on the box is that of ferns. |
